Skin treatment & skincare FAQ.

Everything clients ask most: pricing, where to start, acne, peels, policies, and more. Still not sure? Reach out and Carli will help.

Which treatment should I book first?

If you're new to AfterGlow, book the New Client Consultation + Treatment ($125, 90 minutes). Every new client starts here for a reason: it pairs a thorough consultation with a full treatment, so Carli can assess your skin in person, understand your history and goals, and build a plan that's actually yours. You'll get a double cleanse, enzyme exfoliation, extractions, facial massage, a treatment mask, finishing products, and a personalized treatment plan. From there, return visits are simple to book.

How much does a skin treatment cost?

At AfterGlow Skin by Carli, most skin treatments run between $95 and $150. The AfterGlow & Go maintenance treatment is $95, the Signature Treatment is $125, and Diamond Resurfacing microdermabrasion is $150. Your first visit is the New Client Consultation + Treatment at $125, which includes both a consultation and a full treatment. Professional chemical peels start at $175. Add-ons like dermaplaning ($40) or high frequency ($15) can be layered onto most treatments. Prices reflect the time, products, and customized care that go into each appointment.

Where is the studio located? Is there parking?

AfterGlow Skin by Carli is located in Pavilions Shopping Center on Fair Oaks Blvd, at 530 Pavilions Ln, Suite 201, Sacramento, CA 95825. It's in the Arden-Arcade and Sierra Oaks area, easy to reach from East Sacramento and Carmichael as well. There's free parking throughout Pavilions Shopping Center, so you can pull in and park close by without hunting for a spot or feeding a meter. The studio is by appointment only, so you'll have Carli's full attention when you arrive. If it's your first visit and you're unsure where to go, call or text (717) 440-5391 and we'll point you in the right direction.

Can you help with acne?

Yes, acne is one of the concerns Carli treats, and it's personal for her. She battled stubborn acne through her teens and hormonal acne into her late twenties and thirties, so she knows the frustration firsthand. The Rapid Acne Clarifying treatment ($110) targets active breakouts using non-toxic ingredients and high-frequency technology to eliminate acne bacteria, boost circulation, and calm inflammation. Just as important is the barrier-first philosophy: rather than stripping your skin, we strengthen it so it can heal and stay clear over time. Your plan may combine in-studio treatments with a simple home-care routine. Book a consultation and we'll map out an approach for your skin.

What does "non-toxic skincare" mean at AfterGlow?

At AfterGlow, non-toxic means something specific rather than a buzzword: no synthetic fragrances, no endocrine disruptors, and no carcinogens. Synthetic fragrance is one of the most common triggers for irritation and sensitized skin, so leaving it out matters as much for how your skin performs as for what is in the bottle. Beyond those exclusions, Carli chooses scientifically studied formulas that support your skin's health and function rather than irritate it. It pairs naturally with the barrier-first approach: when your skin barrier is strong, it needs less aggressive intervention to look and feel good. Rather than chasing quick, stripping results, AfterGlow builds resilience with well-chosen actives, hydration, and calming ingredients matched to your concerns.

How often should I get a skin treatment?

As a general rule, every four to six weeks works well for most people, since that roughly matches your skin's natural renewal cycle. That said, the right cadence really depends on your skin and your goals. If you're actively correcting acne, texture, or pigmentation, Carli may suggest a tighter schedule for a while; if you're maintaining healthy skin, you might stretch visits a bit further apart. The AfterGlow & Go treatment ($95) is designed for exactly this kind of regular upkeep between deeper treatments. At your appointment, Carli will recommend a personalized rhythm and a home-care routine so your results hold between visits.

Do chemical peels have downtime?

AfterGlow's professional chemical peels are designed for minimal downtime, so most clients return to their normal routine after a few days, sometimes with mild flaking as the skin renews. Carli checks that your skin barrier is prepared and chooses the peel strength that suits your skin, which is the key to great results without unnecessary irritation. Peels are offered as a single peel or as a progressive series for hyperpigmentation, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven texture. If you're curious whether a peel is right for you, start with a consultation.

What is dermaplaning and is it safe?

Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile blade to remove dead surface skin cells and soft vellus hair, the fine peach fuzz on your face. When performed by a licensed esthetician like Carli, it's a safe, comfortable, no-downtime treatment. The results are immediate: smoother texture, a brighter look, and better absorption of your skincare products afterward. It also gives makeup a flawless surface to sit on. At AfterGlow, dermaplaning is a $40 add-on you can pair with most skin treatments rather than a standalone service, so you get the glow as part of a fuller treatment. Ask Carli if it's a good fit for your skin.

What's included in the Signature Treatment?

The Signature Treatment ($125, 60 minutes) is AfterGlow's returning-client skin treatment and a favorite for good reason. It includes a double cleanse, enzyme exfoliation, gentle lip exfoliation, extractions if your skin needs them, a relaxing facial massage, a treatment mask chosen for your skin, and targeted finishing products to seal in the results. Every step is customized, so no two Signature Treatments look exactly alike. If you're brand new to AfterGlow, you'll start with the New Client Consultation + Treatment instead, which covers the same essentials plus a full consultation. Want something quicker? The AfterGlow & Go delivers the essentials in 45 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

AfterGlow asks for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are subject to a fee of 50% of the service price. Because AfterGlow is a solo studio run by appointment only, a late cancellation means a reserved spot that can't easily be filled, so this policy keeps things fair and the schedule running smoothly for everyone. If something comes up, just reach out as early as you can by calling or texting (717) 440-5391, and Carli will do her best to help you find another time.

What payment options do you accept?

AfterGlow accepts all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through GlossGenius when you book and check out. For larger treatment plans, Buy Now Pay Later financing is available in person, covering amounts from $50 to $4,000, so you can spread the cost of a peel series or a longer skincare journey over time. If you have questions about payment or which option fits your plan, just ask Carli at your appointment or call (717) 440-5391 ahead of time. Whatever you choose, you'll always know the cost of your treatment before you book it.
